RACE LINES 05: CZECH NATIONAL CHAMPS
Racing for the national jersey is always special, you have the hope, you have the belief, it's so close but so far away at the same time... it's unreal until it's done. And then it feels even more unreal when it gets real!
Czech races have become extremely competitive in recent years. Young guns got faster and the top guys pushed each other for years, which resulted in over six riders being able to ride at TOP 20 EDR pace. This all meant that the title was not easy to get and the race was very tight with only a 0.6 sec winning margin. Having the jersey once meant being the fastest in the country, which is still true, but having it today means beating a bunch of racers from the very sharp end of world-level riders.
What’s next?
Few weeks of summer break leave some space for rest but also training and testing before the last two big races of the season. Stay tuned for the media!
