RACE LINES 01: ENDURO TRUTNOV
ENDURO TRUTNOV
Trutnov Enduro served as a practice race before my main EDR season. It’s short and intensive stages were perfect preparation for fast race pace of the World Cup season. Maximum speed with no mistakes allowed!
My performance was solid and I was happy with how my training worked in racing scenario. This win suggests that me as well as the bike are ready for the upcoming race season. Therefore I consider this test race a successful one
Evaluation:
As mentioned above, this race included number of goals which are important for the next steps.
1. Performance
Performance vise it seems that I am more ready than ever before. Thanks to a cooperation with former Pro Tour cyclist Michael Kolar (OKO racing) I’ve managed to shift part of my responsibility to an experienced expert. This change helped more than expected during the off-season and I believe we are on the right track to a serious improvement.
Even the hardest training does not simulate real race.
2. Product test
Considering how many new and „unproven“ products I am racing on, it is almost unbelievable how well everything works. Main credit goes to CDuro crew for making new HP frame from a scratch and bringing it to action so fast. We have more work to do but already now it is performing on a world cup worthy level! Next up is Intend BC with their prototype Carbon upside down fork which is industry leading in many aspect at the moment. Mainly weight and sensitivity! KMC also brought their new T-type chain to the scene and I’ve been lucky enough to test it among the first ones and have to say it works awesome!
Vigorous race test reveals even the slightest flaw.
3. Mental prep
Mental preparation is always important for me as I am more of a over-thinker than most. This means that I need more time to get in the zone than others and this requires more racing. This season it seems to be clicking in place and I am happy to be racing. The relationship with my partners is also a big part of this and therefore I am very grateful for the help from all of you!
Starting line is an intensive feeling which needs to be practiced.
What’s next?
